New jeans, which I think I might just wear with grey shirts…or white shirts.
I’m past my colour era at 44. Now I just want to blend in.
Other things I’m done with: Halloween. I don’t exactly know why and hopefully my brother-in-law isn’t reading this because he LOVES Halloween. But maybe I’m crotchety or deeply tired, but the thought of putting on another cat tail…well, I just can’t. I mean I WILL rally but I won’t like it. My digestive system will know.
So until someone helps me past my blocks, I’m done with colour and Halloween.
Things that make me feel less afraid. Notes from my 11-year-old. We are the intermediary between her and the tooth fairy, whom she uses as a proxy to, say, God. “Dear Tooth Fairy, please get me a phone instead of an Apple Watch.”
Entangled Life by Merlin Sheldrake, which explores one scientist’s relationship to fungi. It’s fascinating and very refreshing to be reminded of how mysterious our world is—the relationships between us and trees. Are we affecting the trees or are the trees affecting us?
The Psalms. Very good for controlling fear.
The Perfect Couple with Nicole Kidman doing that pose she does where she stares out at a body of water in front of her mansion, giving herself a long hug. And you can’t help but wonder how at 57 her skin looks like a baby’s bum. (I dare you to watch the show and not think about her baby bum skin.)
The opening credit sequence is also very fun, which I am watching on repeat. The overwhelm that I feel seems to be contained by limiting myself to only a few sources of stimuli :)
Other things catching my eye:
A London store that sells houseware objects that are all manufactured through circular design principles.
Kimchi and Potato Hash With Eggs for dinner.
’s post on working past those walls we hit as writers.
The white top is better ;-)
You’re not blending in with that oversized jean jacket — and I love it! Long live the colour blue!
