Abbott Elementary is my fun new show on Apple TV. You do have to add it on to your Apple TV subscription for $3.50 per episode (Simon just grimaced), but I promise the good feeling in your body will be worth it. Because then you might go and watch 15 minutes of The Shrink Next Door, which will make you feel sad. (Sometimes it’s just crude emotions over here: happy or sad.)
Abbott Elementary is the brain child of comedian Quinta Brunson and she’s also the star, playing a fervent grade 2 teacher trying to make a difference in the Philadelphia public school’s cash starved system. I love the mockumentary style and lead “Janine” who tosses hilariously to the camera.
A robe-sweater. I suggest you google “best belted cardigan” to find your own.
It hits all the necessary clothes notes for me right now: soft, slightly fashionable but not too much bedazzle for a day spent at home alternating between my desk chair and the couch. I can wrap myself even tighter when Simon comes scrambling upstairs to make a coffee in his five minutes between meetings. He fans out his arms to show how much counter space he’s going to need. The answer is quite a bit. He disturbs my robe-zen, but I can cope because today I’ve got happy vibes.
Old blogs. So much nostalgia over here as I went down a deep rabbit hole excavating my old blog. Found all these pictures that I had named thus:
The doll is present.
Americana Hell.
Dahling.
During the years of this blog and this baby’s face, I was obsessed with the line of ants that plagued our apartment and the couple upstairs that had frequent bed squeaking sex. Also, I pondered the ways in which I didn’t fit in with the other Christian Moms that my evangelical cousin tried to connect me to in Riverside, California. She was a generous connector and I was a miserly loner that just wanted to write in coffee shops and brood. The ever swinging pendulum.
This week Nat introduces me to a new technique for reframing gratitude on Sister On! Also, if our conversations support you in your own reframing practice, please consider a donation on our Patreon page.
I love the babe photos-bella!
